Tuiles canal (also known as coppi in Italy and tejas curvas in Spain) have protected Mediterranean roofs since antiquity. Hand-shaped over tapered wooden forms and wood-fired, their interlocking curved geometry allows rainwater drainage while maintaining natural under-roof ventilation in warm climates. Salvaged tiles feature unique natural encrustations of golden lichens.

Petrographic & Geological Characteristics

Lime Mortar & Breathability Compatibility

Installed on open battens or bedded in fat aerial lime (CL90) on hips and ridges; allows natural ventilation.

Condition Report & Patina
