Historical & Geological Context

Salvaged from historic high-altitude chalets in the French, Swiss, and Austrian Alps, this slow-grown softwood has developed tight growth rings and dense resin content. Exposure to extreme alpine sun, snow, and wind yields deep relief graining and amber-to-silvery-black oxidation, coveted for luxury chalet joinery and bespoke paneling.

Petrographic & Geological Characteristics

European Larch (Larix decidua) and Norway Spruce (Picea abies), high-altitude dense ring growth.

Lime Mortar & Breathability Compatibility

Reclaimed seasoned timbers; naturally resin-rich with centuries of deep solar UV patination.

Provenance & Historical Sourcing

Savoy, Valais, and Tyrolean Alps.

Condition Report & Patina

De-nailed, kiln-sanitized, dry-brushed; zero artificial stains or pigments.
